Description

Twilight of desire , by Erik Pevernagie, (100 x80 cm), Oil and metal on canvas.

Isn't love the emanation of desire or just a statement of emptiness in expectation? As we long for what is missing and finally hold it, could it be that we may not crave it anymore in the end?

Still, if we learn to "enjoy" the precious moments of its presence, it can remain a captivating experience and a mesmerizing adventure. If it keeps on overwhelming us with "joy," love can turn into a magic prism and make it possible to discover a rainbow of twinkles and enchanting sceneries.

As our imagination constantly discerns new qualities, the sparkle of love does not expire in the boredom of forgetfulness.

Let us not fall short of desire, but let us give way to the unspoken passion hidden in the closet of discretion.

Let us not still our anger against indifference and inattention, and let us not showiness and condescension slither into our thinking if we don't want our conscience to be backfired on.

People, walking on the catwalk of indifference and evaporating in a bubble of apathy, are unconscious of the decay of their emotions and the scattering of their attention that are crucial obstacles to refreshing their mental framework and topping up the contents of their life story.

The loss of an eager and unrestrained longing for someone or the lack of an unyielding desire of momentous incidents in life may blur the peculiar aura and the soothing tint of contingent encounters.

Desire or intense liking involves a demanding and ongoing quest, and therefore patience and indulgence are decisive to hitting the trail to empathizing with people and finding out the proper contexts in life.

When eagerness and passion vanish, desire is deserting a weary mind. The power of craving is reaching, then, a twilight zone: the twilight of desire," crépuscule du désir."
